Just weeks after being crowned the winner of Season 24 of American Idol, Hannah Harper reached another major milestone in her rapidly rising career when she made her Grand Ole Opry debut on June 2, delivering an emotional performance that included a surprise duet with country superstar Carrie Underwood and a heartfelt testimony about God's faithfulness.

The 26-year-old Missouri native took to the iconic Nashville stage to perform her breakthrough original song, "String Cheese," the same song that captured the attention of millions during her American Idol audition and helped launch her journey to national recognition.

The evening became even more memorable when Carrie Underwood, the only other female country artist to win American Idol, joined Harper on stage for a special duet. Underwood had previously been deeply moved by the song during Harper's audition, becoming emotional as the young mother shared the story behind the track and her struggle with postpartum depression.

Before launching into the performance, Harper reflected on the surreal nature of standing on one of country music's most historic stages.

"This is absolutely insane," she told the audience. Looking down at the famous wooden circle beneath her feet, Harper remarked, "I feel like there's power coming through my boots."

More importantly, the singer used the moment to publicly praise God for opening doors she never imagined possible.

"When I started thinking about American Idol and just praying that the Lord would, if it wasn't for me, shut the door in my face," Harper shared. "And man, I felt like He grabbed my hand and He said, 'It's go time. We're running baby!' and we haven't stopped running. And now we're here, and it's so amazing!"

The Grand Ole Opry later celebrated Harper's debut on social media, telling the singer, "You're right where you're meant to be." The organization described the night as "one to remember," highlighting Underwood's surprise appearance and the significance of "String Cheese," the song that first introduced Harper to audiences across the country.

The deeply personal song was originally written during a difficult season of motherhood. Harper has previously explained that she wrote the track largely to minister to herself while navigating postpartum depression and the challenges of raising young children. What began as a personal expression of pain and hope quickly resonated with listeners, becoming one of the defining songs of her American Idol journey.

Harper's faith has remained central throughout her rise to prominence. During the American Idol season, she frequently spoke about her Christian beliefs and used several performances as opportunities to share her testimony. Following her victory in May, she closed the season finale by singing Chris Tomlin's worship anthem "At the Cross," a performance that reflected her desire to point audiences toward God even as her platform continues to grow.

Earlier in the competition, Harper described singing the worship song as an opportunity to extend an invitation of faith to viewers watching across the country. After being crowned champion, she publicly thanked supporters for their prayers and expressed gratitude to God for opening doors that would allow her to share both her music and her testimony.

The Grand Ole Opry debut also marked the official launch of Harper's first major post-Idol tour, which will take her throughout the Midwest and Southern United States through mid-November. The tour includes multiple high-profile appearances, including two performances at Dollywood.

For Harper, however, the night represented more than a career achievement. It was another reminder of what she believes God can do through obedience, perseverance, and faith. Standing on country music's most revered stage alongside one of her idols, the young singer celebrated not only a dream fulfilled but also a journey she says was guided every step of the way by God's hand.
