Star Wars Episode VII News, Photos, Rumors and Updates: New photos reveal the new Stormtrooper Helmets
Star Wars Episode VII is more than a year away from its scheduled release on December 18, 2015. Fans of the highly anticipated sequel has kept on digging up any and all details they can from the secret production of the film.
Yesterday, Indie Revolver released pictures of 2 new Stormtrooper helmets. The picture (see above) shows a new design of the helmet, but still bares resemblance to the classic stormtrooper. Many have been speculating on why stormtroopers would still be present in the film even when the Empire was already destroyed from Return of the Jedi.
This is somewhat of a revelation to the plot of the movie, because it would suggest that the presence of the empire is still around in Episode VII. One of the most famous rumors going around the internet is that when the Empire fell, there were still those loyal to the empire and fled to hide from the new Republic. Those who were probably left were high ranking officers, and they brought along stormtroopers with them. Another speculation suggests that stormtroopers are now serving the new Republic, and are really on the side of the good guys now. Either way, this leaked picture only made fans more hyped about the sequel.
Speaking of villains, on August 12 JJ Abrams posted a picture on the Bad Robot official twitter account (@bad_robot) announcing the winner of the Force for Change charity drive. In the picture (seen above) a robotic hand is holding the message bearing the said announcement. Speculations arose that the robotic hand belongs to the new villain of Star Wars Episode VII. Latino Review said that the new villains will be a part of the order calld The Inquisitors. The Inquisitor is also a character in Disney XD's animated series Star Wars Rebels, where it is revealed that his mission objective is to hunt down Jedis who have survived Order 66 back in Revenge of the Sith. With having the new animated series announced as canon to the Star Wars cinematic universe, it would be a fair assumption that the new villains in Episode VII could very well be The Inquisitors.
Disney, Lucasfilm and JJ Abrams has been very mum on any details on the new film, neither denying or confirming any alleged leaks, so it's best that these rumors and speculations should be taken with a grain of salt.
Star Wars Episode VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
