The songwriters behind Christian music's biggest hits are getting their moment this summer.
BMI officially announced this week that the 2026 BMI Christian Awards will be held on July 22 at BMI's Nashville offices on Music Row.
The private event, hosted by BMI's AVP of Creative Nashville Leslie Roberts and CEO Mike O'Neill, will recognize the 25 most-performed Christian songs from the past year and reveal BMI's Christian Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year, and Publisher of the Year.
Guests will enjoy a formal VIP reception before sitting down to a full-course dinner sponsored by Studio Bank, with live performances from top-tier Christian music creators woven throughout the evening.
The BMI Christian Awards have long served as one of the industry's most meaningful behind-the-scenes celebrations - honoring not just the artists who perform the songs, but the writers who craft the words and melodies that congregations, families, and individuals carry with them through their daily lives.
Past honorees have included songwriters behind some of the most enduring worship anthems of the past two decades.
"Christian music has the powerful ability to bring people together, anchor faith and offer hope when we need it most," said Roberts. "These creators craft the soundtracks to people's lives and spiritual journeys."
This year's event arrives as Christian music continues to experience one of its strongest mainstream moments in a generation, with multiple CCM songs recently charting on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 and Spotify reporting major growth in Christian and gospel streaming worldwide.
