This July 4th is not just another Independence Day.

July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence - a once-in-a-lifetime milestone the Christian community across America is treating as a moment of gratitude, prayer, and renewal.

America250 is sparking three days of shared celebrations from July 3 to July 5, with signature events in New York City, Philadelphia, and California, plus community gatherings nationwide.

But for many believers, the most meaningful moment may happen right inside their local church.

The Assemblies of God World Prayer Center is mobilizing a nationwide grassroots prayer movement called America Prays 250, calling churches coast to coast to gather for a unified hour of prayer beginning at 9 a.m. in each time zone on July 4 - seeking God for revival and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon America.

Grammy-winning worship artist Chris Tomlin has already been part of the national faith conversation around this anniversary, performing at a major prayer gathering on the National Mall in May as part of the America 250 lead-up season.

On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate 250 years of independence - and for the global Christian community, it's a reminder that gratitude and prayer are always in season. As Psalm 33:12 says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."

Whether you're watching fireworks, gathering with family, or kneeling in prayer at your church this Saturday, this 4th of July is a moment worth pausing for.
