The Point of Grace family is mourning the loss of one of its biggest supporters.
The beloved Christian music trio announced that Denise Jones' father, Don Masters, passed away at 8:23 p.m. last Thursday, sharing an emotional tribute that painted a picture of unwavering faith, family devotion, and a lifetime spent cheering on his daughter's ministry.
In a heartfelt message shared with fans, Shelley Breen revealed that Denise and her sisters, Donita and Danya, were at their father's bedside in his final moments.
"Denise and her sisters, Donita and Danya, sung him into heaven at his bedside. What a beautiful picture."
Known affectionately as "Pepa" by his grandchildren, Don Masters was remembered as a man of extraordinary kindness, generosity, and humility. But for Point of Grace, he was also something else: arguably the group's most enthusiastic fan.
"There wasn't a concert within a day's drive that he ever missed until the very end when his body started to give out," Shelley wrote.
His support extended far beyond simply attending concerts. According to the group, Don famously carried stacks of autographed Point of Grace 8x10 photos in his car, always ready to introduce new people to his daughter's music.
"If he met someone who was 'a fan of his daughter's group'-or more likely, someone who SHOULD be a fan!" Shelley joked.
One of the tribute's most touching stories revealed that Don personally campaigned for Point of Grace to be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
"He single-handedly petitioned the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame for our induction-and by gosh-he got it done!!"
The group also shared one of his favorite running jokes-that he always believed Point of Grace deserved to have their picture painted on the Moore, Oklahoma, water tower alongside country legend Toby Keith.
Beyond his love for music, Don's greatest legacy was his faith.
"All of his daughters and grandchildren call Jesus their Savior. This was his greatest joy and his lasting legacy."
The trio ended their tribute with a message filled with Christian hope, expressing confidence that Don is now with Christ.
"We know you are breathing that clean beautiful air in heaven, deeply and easily now. Praise God!"
Point of Grace asked supporters to pray for Denise and her family as they navigate this season of grief and reminded readers to "hug the ones you love today."
Funeral services for Don Masters will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma.
