Keith Urban choked back tears onstage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on Friday night, months after finalizing his divorce from Nicole Kidman.
The 58-year-old country star was performing "We Go Back," a track off his latest album Flow State, when he paused to explain the story behind it. "This song is about a guy and a girl growing up in a small town," Urban told the crowd. "They were the first of their friends to fall in love. They had a good thing going, until the guy screwed it up. I will do that."
The song follows two former sweethearts who reunite years later - only for the woman to reveal she's found someone else. As Urban sang the regret-filled chorus, footage from the show captured him crouching down and wiping away tears, before smiling back at the cheering audience.
Urban and Kidman's marriage, which lasted nearly 20 years, officially ended in January 2026. Urban has not commented on his ex-wife's personal life, and neither he nor Kidman has confirmed any new relationship, despite recent rumors circulating online.
