The Christian singer-songwriter admitted she "burst into tears" after learning of Parton's "home-going," describing the beloved entertainer as both the "Queen of country and kindness" and a light whose music traveled from Tennessee's mountains and rivers into hearts around the world.
But Ellie's tribute was more than admiration from afar. She and Drew once had the opportunity to meet Dolly and perform at an event in her presence. The couple covered Parton's autobiographical classic "My Tennessee Mountain Home" before singing their own Tennessee love letter, "Feels Like Home"-a song that name-checks Dolly herself.
