Chris Harrison is officially returning to reality dating television-but his new show promises to put faith, marriage and traditional values ahead of manufactured drama.
The former longtime host of The Bachelor franchise will front Chris Harrison's The Vow, Fox Nation's first original dating series. Premiering November 11, the six-episode program will follow a Christian bachelor and 10 women who say they are looking for relationships that lead to lasting commitment and marriage.
"I'm so excited to be back helping people find love," Harrison said in the show's announcement. "At a time when so many people feel dating has become harder than ever, The Vow asks a simple but important question: Can genuine, lasting love still be found in the modern world?"
The comeback is likely to attract plenty of attention. Harrison became virtually synonymous with The Bachelor after hosting the ABC franchise for nearly two decades, but he departed in 2021 following a highly publicized controversy. Now, instead of simply recreating his old show, the television personality appears ready to offer viewers an alternative to the increasingly chaotic world of reality romance.
Filmed in Austin, Texas, The Vow will center on 30-year-old Jace Cates, a Christian from Oregon. Although producers have not yet disclosed much about Cates or identified the 10 women competing for his heart, the show says its relationships will be built around shared faith, honest communication and compatible long-term goals.
That emphasis could make The Vow especially appealing to Christian viewers who have grown frustrated with dating programs that celebrate hookups, betrayal and emotional spectacle while rarely discussing spiritual compatibility. This time, the contestants will reportedly have to consider whether they share the convictions necessary to build a marriage-not merely whether they feel an immediate physical attraction.
Harrison will also receive some help from familiar faces. Sean and Catherine Lowe, whose relationship began during Season 17 of The Bachelor, are expected to appear. The couple married in 2014 and have often spoken publicly about their Christian faith, placing them among the franchise's most recognizable success stories.
The Lowes' involvement gives the new show a valuable connection to Harrison's past while reinforcing its marriage-minded message. It also raises the possibility that they could counsel Cates and the contestants about maintaining a relationship once the cameras stop rolling and ordinary married life begins.
Whether The Vow can truly "rewrite modern dating" remains to be seen. Reality television has made similar promises before, and even shows built around faith are not immune to carefully edited confrontations and unexpected heartbreak. However, Harrison's return signals that producers believe there is an audience hungry for a dating show in which commitment, marriage and belief in God are treated seriously.
