For those looking for a good and specs-full smart watch, and are being pulled back by the high cost, there is some good news for you. Asus is likely to launch its new Android wear on 3^rd September at the IFA conference that will be held in Berlin. It will be cheaper as compared to other rival devices.

On its twitter page, Asus posted what looks like a mostly black image with a rounded square watch face in the background. It has in its foreground words quoted by khalil Gigran, "Time has been transformed, and we have changed." On top of the quote are the words, "@IFA Berlin Sept 3, 2014." This is to confirm about the smart watch that had been earlier mentioned during an investor's conference. The CEO, Jerry Shen said that it would be ready for IFA. The CEO further claimed that the company would be offering a smart watch which is cheaper and better looking than the rival products.

The existing Android devices are the LG G watch and the Samsung Gear Live which have rectangular faces and they cost $229 and $199 respectively. The Moto 360 smart watch will be launched soon and it will have a round face which will be a first in the smart watch field. It is expected to cost $250, which will make it the most expensive in the lot. It is not clear about how much cheaper the Asus smart watch will be. It is also not clear on what tradeoffs the company will be making for the lower cost.

There seems to be a lot of competition in the smart watch market in the second half of the year. It is reported that Samsung will be releasing a Gear Solo smart watch at IFA which can be used without a smartphone. Apple is also rumored to release an iWatch or an iTime before the end of this year. The Cupertino Company is offering to run a version of iOS and have a strong fitness focus.
