The last Samsung flagship phone, the Galaxy S5 has been up for sale in the past few months and Samsung is already thinking about a Galaxy S6.  We have some information about the specs, release date and rumors of the next Samsung flagship phone. Most 2014 smartphones have already been released and we are now waiting for the iPhone 6, Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4.

It is important to note that there is no official announcement from Samsung about the launching of a new flagship phone. Just as it is expected that the Galaxy Note 4 will launch on September to tie in with IFA, it is also expected that the Galaxy S6 will launch close to MWC.

The new handset from Samsung will feature the SuperAMOLED screen which is Samsung's favorite. The new S6 is expected to have a bigger display that the recently released S5. It is anticipated that the new flagship will have a 5.5-inch display which could match with the LG G3. There are two main contenders for the screen resolution of the Galaxy S6 that is a Quad HD of 1440*2560 which matches with the LG flagship or the other option of 4K( 2160* 3840). The former seems to be more likely though the Galaxy Note 4 is tipped to be the first 4K smartphone.

There are rumors about the possibility of the Galaxy S6 having a curved or a flexible display which Samsung has been developing. It is unclear whether the firm will utilize the new technology on its next flagship, but from our point of view, it is unlikely. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was slammed for having a plastic built quality and Samsung should work on this for its next flagship. It is likely that the firm will use the metal design which was used by its Galaxy Alpha. Under the hood, it is anticipated that the Galaxy S6 will be powered by a Qualcomm's 64-bit processor and will run on the new Android L. The Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810 are the two options and Samsung could use both but in different markets. It is unlikely though that the flagship will be released before the end of the year.
