39th Toronto International Film Festival: To Feature Hollywood Favorites on the Guest List
The 39th edition of the annual festival is already making a big teaser as it announces some big Hollywood names, from fan-favorites to critically-acclaimed stars expected to make an appearance at the TIFF when it officially opens next month.
It includes big names such as; Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Bill Murray, Juliette Binoche, Keira Knightley, Steve Carell, Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Gael Garcia Bernal, Benedict Cumberbatch, Priyanka Chopra, Kate Winslet, Diane Keaton, Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, Vanessa Redgrave and many more.
The Robert Downey starrer The Judge, co-stars Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Billy Bob Thornton, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jeremy Strong, Dax Shepard and directed by David Dobkin is among the opening night films; as well as The Humbling starring Al Pacino.
The festival will have its kick off on September 4 to run until September 14. It will showcase 285 feature films, where 143 of these are world premieres.
Rounding up the programs of Masters, Vanguard, Midnight Madness and documentary are the following films: The Sound and the Fury (James Franco), St. Vincent (Theodore Melfi), Foreign Body (Krzysztof Zanussi), Murder in Pacot ( Raoul Peck), The Voices (Marjane Satrapi), While We're Young (Noah Baumbach), The Face of an Angel (Michael Winterbottom), Maps to the Stars (David Cronenberg), Madame Bovary (Sophie Barthes), The Riot Club ( Lone Scherfig), Mommy (Xavier Dolan), Top Five ( Chris Rock), Pawn Sacrifice (Edward Zwick ), Learning to Drive (Isabel Coixet), The Good Lie (Philippe Falardeau), Wild (Jean-Marc Valllée), A Little Chaos (Allan Rickman), concert-documentary Roger Waters: The Wall by Pink Floyd front man Roger Waters and more additional titles.
