Forrest Frank is taking his Jesus Generation Tour to cinemas-but the first preview suggests the story will extend beyond the stage.

The Christian singer has announced The Jesus Generation, a documentary scheduled for theatrical release in 2027 through Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate. Its official teaser introduces a film about Frank, his concerts and the young audiences gathering around his music.

The preview brings together recognisable voices from Christian music and ministry, including Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, Sadie Robertson Huff and Philip Anthony Mitchell, alongside Jelly Roll. Its emphasis on prayer, the gospel and young people's response gives the project a broader focus than a conventional concert recap.

That framing creates the film's central point of interest: how will it connect the scale of Frank's success with the personal experiences of the people attending?

The tour drew more than 519,000 attendees across 29 cities, according to RELEVANT, culminating in a sold-out finale at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Those numbers establish the size of the audience; the documentary offers an opportunity to explore the stories within it.

The Gospel Music Association's October 26 announcement describes the project as bringing both the tour and the stories behind it to the big screen. For viewers, that promises a closer look at what happened around the performances as well as onstage.

The teaser presents an encouraging picture of young people engaging with Christian faith. How fully the finished film explores those experiences remains to be seen, but its opening message is clear: the audience is part of the story.
