Melissa Rycroft Strickland, the reality television personality known for The Bachelor and her winning run on Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars, is facing a new driving-while-intoxicated charge following a previous DWI guilty plea.
According to PEOPLE, which reviewed jail records, the 43-year-old was arrested in Southlake, Texas, on November 1. Records listed additional charges involving an invalid driver's licence and a collision causing vehicle damage. Her combined bond was set at $9,000. The new charges are allegations and have not been established in court.
The arrest raises questions about the potential consequences for Rycroft's existing probation. Reporting on her earlier case indicates that she received a 20-month probation sentence after pleading guilty to a DWI charge stemming from a September 2025 incident. Whether the latest allegations will result in a probation violation or additional penalties remains unresolved.
In the earlier incident, Southlake police said officers responded to a single-vehicle crash and found a Cadillac Escalade that had struck a tree. Witnesses reportedly described erratic driving before the collision. Police said no injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
Conditions associated with the earlier sentence reportedly included community service, a DWI education course, a substance-abuse evaluation and drug and alcohol testing. Rycroft was also required to use an ignition interlock device and prohibited from consuming alcohol or illegal drugs while on probation.
Rycroft became a familiar face to television audiences during Jason Mesnick's 2009 season of The Bachelor. Their televised engagement ended when Mesnick revealed that he wanted to pursue a relationship with runner-up Molly Malaney. Rycroft subsequently competed on Dancing With the Stars, returning in 2012 to win its all-star season.
Her latest arrest brings renewed scrutiny to the television personality's legal circumstances. The central issue now is how the new case proceeds and whether it affects the terms imposed after her previous guilty plea.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Rycroft's attorney declined to comment on the latest arrest. No outcome in the new case has been announced in the reporting reviewed.
