For KING + COUNTRY are thanking fans as their Drummer Boy soundtrack celebrates a No. 1 milestone alongside the film's theatrical release.
In an Instagram message, brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone credited listeners for the achievement and revealed that some of the songs began taking shape eight years ago. The post did not identify the chart or territory associated with the No. 1 ranking.
The duo also recognised composers and producers Garrett P. Tyler and Danny Lopez, who joined the project's musical journey a year ago.
"The soundtrack is no longer ours... it's yours," they wrote.
Released November 6 through Curb Records, Drummer Boy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) features 13 tracks combining original songs, Christmas favourites and performances by the film's cast. The release coincides with the movie's arrival in cinemas through Angel Studios.
Directed by Joel and Ben Smallbone, Drummer Boy is a Christmas action-musical set during the American Revolutionary War. Its story follows a young drummer boy, an enslaved woman and a divided family searching for freedom amid conflict. Joel also stars in the film, which explores faith, forgiveness and reconciliation.
The soundtrack's performers include Beverley Knight, Charles Esten, Melora Hardin, India Brown, Lucas Leach, Ioan Gruffudd and Iain Glen. Songs include "Who I Hope To Be," "Heart Of A Lion," "Same Blood," "Wildflower" and "Try," alongside "O Come, O Come Emmanuel." Two bonus tracks feature for KING + COUNTRY's "Radiant Mix" versions of "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Little Drummer Boy."
For Joel, the songs serve the characters and their struggles.
"Every song was written to help tell this story of brotherhood, division and ultimately reconciliation," he said in the release announcement.
The soundtrack is available on major streaming platforms. Fans can find cinema listings and tickets through Angel Studios.
