The Revenant Movie Release Date, Spoilers and Latest News, Set to Come Out on December 2015 Due to Major Financial Backer Pulling Out

Movie-goers will now have a new movie to watch out for, albeit a gritty one. Based on Michael Punke's 2002 novel entitled The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge, the film will be dealing with the story about a man in hot pursuit of revenge on some mercenaries whom he tries to hunt down after being left for dead in the middle of nowhere in 19th century North America.

The story introduces the 36-year old Hugh Glass who is based on a real-life figure who gets mauled by a bear while on a journey in the wilderness. He was then stripped off his belongings by some supposed "rescuers" who turn out to be merciless mercenaries who then abandon him to suffer and die.

The Revenant 2015 movie cast include Hollywood on-screen veteran Leonardo DiCaprio - who has always been famous for his many roles across a variety of movie genres - on the lead role as Hugh Glass. Along with him will be Inception co-star Tom Hardy as well as We're the Millers and The Narnia Chronicles actor Will Poulter.

Lately however, there had been a few production difficulties as big production houses 20th Century Fox and Worldview Entertainment started backing out of providing financial assistance. In a fortunate turn of events, however, Annapurna Pictures has vowed on dealing with the finances of the movie, prompting its new limited release date on December 25, 2015 and its worldwide release on January 8, 2016.
