The Legend of Korra Book 4 Release Date, News, Rumors, and Updates: What We Know So Far.
The action-packed season finale of The Legend of Korra this past weekend was full of surprises.
Zaheer discovered an ancient form of Airbending which allows him to take flight, Korra almost dying and inadvertently ending the avatar cycle, P'li, Ghazan, and Ming-Hua met their demise, Jinora becoming a full-fledged Airbending master and spiritual leader, and of course who would forget Bolin discovering that he can lavabend!?
With all those events taking place during the finale, we are now left with one question: What's next?
These past couple of month's creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Brian Konietzko have confirmed a few details on book 4.
- Book 4 will be the last entry to the Legend of Korra. This is sad news to all us fans, but all good things must come to an end.
- Book 4 will have 13 episodes.
- Studio Mir will animate all episodes
- Animation stage of production is complete
- Color and design stage is "in the home stretch" according to a Tumblr post by Konietzko
- Voice recording is now complete for book 4.
Not a lot of information to go on, but at least we now know that we might get book 4 sooner than we expect. Speculations suggest that book 4 will be released sometime in January 2015, and will most likely only be shown on Nickelodeon's official website. Due to the show's declining viewership, the show was ultimately removed from television and shown for free online. Details on what book 4 will be about is scarce, but of course fans of the show have already given a lot of thought what it could possibly be about.
Book 4 of the Legend of Korra is rumored to be titled as Balance. It has not yet been confirmed or denied by the series' showrunners, but might be a huge possibility considering everything what has happened in the past seasons. Book 4 might also take us to the Fire Nation. This is probably the rumor that fans believe to be the truest. Book 1 Korra learned the culture of the Air nomads and as well as Airbending, Book 2 brought our heroes to the Water Tribe, and most of Book 3 took place in the Earth Kingdom. If the series follows this pattern, then book 4 taking place in the Fire Nation is certain.
During the season finale of Legend of Korra Book 3, everyone was scratching their heads when one of Suyin's metalbenders was introduced for no apparent reason. Kuvira introduced herself to Tonraq after saving his life. This might just be fans being paranoid, but it is kind of weird to give a minor/background character that much of exposure. We've been exposed to the character of Kuvira since team avatar arrived in Zaofu, often seen radioing the guards and reporting to Suyin, and also we see a picture of her in a newspaper. Book 4 might delve into the new character, and might even play a huge role in the upcoming season. Some have even speculated that Kuvira may be a villain in book 4.
Right now all we have are a few details on the production and a ton of rumors to go on. All we can do now is meditate and be patient.
