Arrow Season 3 News, Spoilers, Cast, and Updates: Komodo Revealed to be a New Villain
Actor Matt Ward has been cast in Season 3 of Arrow. He will be playing Simon Lacroix who will later don a mask and be known as Komodo.
The new villain has been described by The CW as "a deadly mercenary using the codename Komodo, who wreaks havoc in Starling City."
Komodo will not be the only villain featured in the new season. After a couple of name drops in the last 2 seasons, one of the most well-known villains in the DC universe, Ra's Al Ghul, will finally make an appearance. However, it is still unclear who will play the iconic role. In 2005's Batman Begins, and in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises he was portrayed by Liam Neeson. Michael Rowe will once again appear as Floyd Lawton/Deadshot. Another one of Green Arrow's recurring villains, Count Vertigo is also expected to return this season, who will still be portrayed by Peter Stormare. John Barrowman of Doctor Who fame, will also be returning as series antagonist Malcom Merlyn
As of now, not much is known about the plot of the new season, but it's been confirmed by executive producer Marc Guggenheim that this season will also include the return of the Suicide Squad. Also, this season will feature 2 crossover episodes with The Flash, spin-off of Arrow featuring the fastest man alive.
With all these villains, the show has also announced additions to the heroes. J.R. Ramirez is set to portray Ted Grant who will later be known as Wildcat. Brandon Routh who starred in Superman Returns will also be joining season 3 as Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom. In the comics, The Atom can manipulate his size as well as the size of other objects.
Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, and Colton Haynes will be returning for the third season of Arrow.
Arrow season 3 premiere on The CW on October 8.
