Google's Modular ARA Smartphone: Inventive Smartphone Release Date and Specs 

Google have been developing a new modular hardware device for smartphones through what they call "Project ARA" and often titled as "The Grey Phone", where customers have the chance and ability to customize or personalize their phones according to how they see it fit, it is a Do-it-yourself smartphone! It is a first of its kind and a step further for innovation, which will revolutionize the smartphone industry, as they say.

With this, It is said that customers can choose from a wide selection of components or modules that come in many different sizes and colors, giving them options, and allowing them to build and create, design and upgrade their own smartphones.

Swappable Components of the phone include frames, camera, GPS, speakers and other main parts of a smartphone, similar to a PC where you can add or replace when needed.

When an updated part becomes available to the public, you only need to purchase that individual part and replace it with the old one, without having to purchase a whole phone! Main frames is said to last for up to 6 years, making it very durable.

It is very useful and intriguing for developers, enthusiasts, hobbyists, techies and laypersons alike who wish to learn about the technology or just want to have a smartphone with features and specifications of their own choice.

The schedule of the release of the product is said to be in January of next year 2015, priced at only $50!
