Person of Interest Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers: To Hide from Samaritan, Root and Shaw seem to have become cosmetics counter girls in their new identities?!
Person of Interest premieres September 23 at its regular Tuesday 10 PM time slot on CBS. Episode 1 is entitled Panopticon and it is directed by Richard Lewis based on a script written by Eric Mountain and Greg Plageman.
Panopticon, as noted in the Person of Interest Wiki, refers to an architectural form developed for prisons such that "one guard can keep all (pan-) under observation (-opticon), without the guard being observed. Panopticon is said to derive from the mythical Greek giant with a hundred eyes, Panoptes - the hundred eyes made him an effective watchman." It also "identifies a society or an area where all the citizens are under pervasive, ever-present observation by unobserved, but untiring entities."
When we left Person of Interest in Season 3, the Samaritan Al surveillance program is online and in full force reigning over the entire country, necessitating the team to escape and go into hiding under the guise of new identities supplied by their ally AI, known only as The Machine.
During the San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and crew of the highly acclaimed TV series unveiled a five-minute trailer giving fans a glimpse on what to expect next season. Among them: Root and Shaw seem to have become cosmetics counter girls in their new identities, Reese appears to be a cop, and Harold looks like he's a college professor. In the teaser clip, actress Cara Buono is shown as a new mystery woman who tells Harold, "The world has changed." There is also another scene which show Root intensely telling Harold that there is a war so he has "to pick a side." Another scene shows Harold and Reese discussing about returning to work as they play chess at a park in the company of Bear, their militarily trained attack dog. Person of Interest stars Jim Caviezel as John Reese, Michael Emerson as Harold Finch, Sarah Shahi as Sam Shaw, Amy Acker as Root, Kevin Chapman as Detective Fusco, and Grauber's Boker as Bear.
