Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 Casting News: Who Will Remain, Who Will Not?
The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, once it returns on air, will have host Andy Cohen back at the show's reigns. According to NY Daily News Confidential, Cohen was begged by Bravo TV "to return to the struggling franchise, which has slipped from 2 million viewers to 1.3 million." To boost the ratings, Cohen may do "a little cast re-shuffling and maybe even a little firing" says Reality Tea. The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 premiere date still hasn't been set by Bravo TV, inviting speculations that the show has been canceled or that the cast will all be replaced.
As far as Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 casting is concerned, Carole Radziwill and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps will be seen again next season. Lesseps will return no longer as a "friend" but as a full-fledged "housewife." NY Daily News Confidential, citing an insider source, says, "Carole is also safe. She is a dear friend of Andy's and has formed a genuine friendship with Heather Thomson. This is what the show is looking for....They want genuine relationships and drama, and want to stay away from anything the ladies 'stage' to make good TV-- such as throwing an artificial leg."
Aviva Drescher, the one involved in the artificial leg throwing incident, may get the boot. "It is the end of the road for Aviva. She has not been told anything officially, but has been told if she wants to start looking for other TV opportunities, it is fine with Bravo," a network executive reportedly revealed to NY Daily News Confidential.
Original member Ramona Singer may make it back to Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, but only if she agrees to a condition set by Bravo. "Ramona is the heart of the show and will be welcomed back if she agrees that her marriage troubles be part of her deal. At the reunion, Ramona shut down any questions of her doomed marriage. She will not be able to do that if she returns," a friend of Singer reportedly told NY Daily News Confidential. Sonja Morgan, another Real Housewives of New York City veteran, will likely also be back. Another insider, according to Radar Online, said, "There is no show without Ramona and Sonja. Sonja is the funny sex pot, and Ramona's the one who throws glasses."
The Real Housewives of New York City finished airing the final episode of Season 6 on August 12, the third of a three part reunion segment and it garnered 1.305 million viewers. The Real Housewives of New York City managed to average 1.291 million viewers per episode for the entire Season 6. Bustle expects The Real Housewives of New York City to be back between April and June 2015.
