Microsoft Windows 9 Release Date: Sept. 30 Tentative Preview, More Frequent Updates
Microsoft is soon to be launching Windows 9, the major upgrade to its rather disappointing Windows 8, so is this a boon or bane? Well only the users and Microsoft itself will be able to attest to that when it is officially released to the general public. As of the moment, there are already various reports surrounding the impending release of Windows 9, although there has been no confirmation from Microsoft's reps.
According to The Verge, a preview of Windows 9 could happen this September 30, but it could still be changed the report added. With the preview, some notable changes could be seen such as new mini Start menu, refreshed user interface, desktop version of Cortana, notification center, live folder, improved interactive tiles, and no more Charms bar.
WinBeta adds that Microsoft is considering the "Threshold" performance benefits to enable installation of new Window builds without reinstalling. Two or more updates monthly are expected, to begin with Windows Technology Preview Beta; as well as new features and better OS stability.
And if users agree to get a hold of Windows 9, what's the deal for them? An MYCE report says that it could come free or at a minimal price depending on the current version being used during the update.
Updates, new features and better stability, these could be something bad or something good. As far as Windows 8 is concerned, users were not so impressed with several known features being removed. And if this is the same case for Windows 9, it could create more backlash for Microsoft.
We will find out if it's a major improvement or a further letdown as Windows 9 could be launched at the developers conference in spring next year.
