Last June, an article claiming that the legal drinking age in the United States will be raised from 21 years old to 25 years old circulated the World Wide Web. In the article, it said that the new law will take effect by the 2^nd of August, 2014.

For those who love drinking, there is no longer a need to worry: this rumor does not have any truth in it. Many publications have already confirmed this, including the websites of Christian Post, Snopes, and The Epoch Times.

According to the update that was published by the Christian Post, this drinking age to 25 hoax was first started by Nipsy News's website. The site made claims regarding the federally mandated increase of the legal drinking age from 21 to 25. This report spread like wildfire and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram were abuzz with the rumor.

Christian Post, Snopes, and The Epoch Times have shared the summary of the news that Nipsy News started.

"As of August 2, 2014, legal age to drink will be 25. There has been controversy whether 21 is too young to make decisions. Alot of citizens state at that age they are not mentally responsible to drink. So the legislation at the White House has come to an agreement to have legal age changed to 25," said the report.

All three publications also explained that when one clicks on the post, he or she will be redirected to a page that informs them they have been tricked and that the report is just a hoax. The exact message they will get is this:

"Don't worry, you are not the only one. [9 million] people already fell for this. If you liked the joke, you can share it and trick your friends. Also you can create a joke of your own clicking the button below!"
