We are so privileged to be able to catch up with Plumb for this exclusive Hallels' interview:
Hallels: Thank you so much for your time. After the release of the original version "Need You Now," many things have had happened, including the demise of your marriage. Would you mind telling us a little of what happened?
THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF NEED YOU NOW, THE ALBUM, WAS COMPLETE IN OCTOBER AND AS WE TOOK A BREAK OVER THE HOLIDAYS, MY HUSBAND AND I UNEXPECTEDLY SEPARATED 2 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS 2011 SO THE RECORD SLATED FOR 2012 WAS PUT ON HOLD. GOD DID A MIRACLE IN OUR MARRIAGE AND IN OUR LIVES AND HOME AND WE WERE ABLE TO RECONCILE AND REMARRY EACH OTHER IN MAY OF 2013. THE RESURRECTION OF MY MARRIAGE AND THE CHANGE THAT HAS COME ABOUT SINCE THAT TIME IN OUR HOME AND LIVES HAS SHAPED ME DIFFERENTLY. LESS FEAR. MORE FAITH. A BETTER MARRIAGE AND RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THAN I HAVE EVER HAD. GOD TRULY MAKES BEAUTY FROM ASHES, THE KEY IS IF WE'LL LET HIM.
Hallels: In the light of your experiences, if you were to do the whole record again fro scratch, would you have approached it differently?
THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO IMAGINE. ITS ALMOST PROPHETIC HOW THE ORIGINAL NEED YOU NOW ALBUM SPEAKS TO WHAT I WENT THROUGH SHORTLY AFTER ITS COMPLETION...AND NOW THE DELUXE VERSION CONTINUES THE CONVERSATION. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE BEING HONEST WITH WHERE I AM WHEN I MAKE ART...SO TO RECORD IT AGAIN I IMAGINE WOULD LOOK DIFFERENT BUT I DON'T KNOW TO WHAT EXTENT.
Hallels: When you were recording the song "Need You Now," did you know it would be such a huge hit?
NO. ITS FUNNY HOW THE SONGS YOU THINK EVERYONE WILL BE DRAWN TO ARE OFTEN NOT...AND THE ONES WITH THE MOST STRAIGHT FORWARD AUTHENTIC TRUTH ARE WHAT MOST ARE HUNGRY FOR.I'VE LEARNED ALOT AS A SONGWRITER BECAUSE OF THAT. I'M THANKFUL FOR THE RESPONSE...BECAUSE THE SONG UNEXPECTEDLY SPOKE TO ME AS WELL...WHEN I FELT HOPELESS. NOW, MY OVERFLOWS WITH GRATITUDE AT WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN MY LIFE AND THANKFUL NEED YOU NOW SERVES AS A TOOL TO GIVE HOPE AS IT DID ME.
Hallels: What inspired you to record a new worship version of "Need You Now" for the deluxe version?
THANKFULNESS. BUCKETS AND BUCKETS OF THANKFULNESS.
Hallels: I do love "Lord, I'm Ready Now," can you tell us more about the song and the inspiration behind it?
ITS WHERE I AM NOW. ALL WALLS ARE DONE. SECRETS TOLD. NOTHING LEFT TO HIDE. I FEEL LIKE I'VE WASTED TIME WITH SELFISH AGENDAS AND DON'T WANT TO WASTE ANYMORE...AT THE SAME TIME, THANKFUL GOD CAN USE ANYTHING...EVEN WHEN OUR HEARTS AREN'T IN THE RIGHT PLACE. SO I KNOW NOTHING IS WASTED AND I DON'T NEEDTO LIVE IN REGRET BECAUSE OF A REDEMPTIVE GOD..BUT AT THE SAME TIME I'M MORE READY THAN EVER TO BE USED BY HIM...
Hallels: Are you currently preparing for your next album? Do you know what direction it would be? I would love to hear a worship album by you, any chance of that happening?
FUNNY YOU ASK THAT SO POINTEDLY. I AM IN FACT WRITING AND RECORDING ANOTHER ALBUM. WE START RECORDING IN NOVEMBER. AND YOU GUESSED IT...IT'S A WORSHIP ALBUM. NOT BECAUSE OF THE TREND IN WORSHIP MUSIC. NOT BECAUSE I'M CHANGING INTO ANOTHER KIND OF ARTIST...ITS JUST WHERE I AM. I AM SO UNBELIEVEABLY THANKFUL FOR WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN MY LIFE AND THE MIRACLE HE HAS DONE IN MY HEART AND MARRIAGE AND HOME...THAT I JUST WANT TO PRAISE HIM AND LIFT HIM UP AND SHARE MY THANKFULNESS AND HOPE IT BECOMES CONTAGIOUS TO ANYONE HUNGRY FOR THE SAME POSTURE.
Hallels: In the light of all that has happened, what does Jesus Christ mean to you personally?
HOPE. FORGIVENESS. FAITHFUL. PROVIDER. PROTECTOR. THE TRUEST LOVER. ALL I REALLY NEED.
