Minecraft is a popular video game released for the PC on May 17, 2009 by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson. According to Minecraft wiki-an online database dedicated for the game-Minecraft is a game about 'breaking and placing blocks.' Players get to build structures that serve as protection against nocturnal monsters. As the game develops, however, they get to do a variety of other activities including working together with other players into creating wonderful and imaginative things.

Due to its popularity it has now evolved into a multi - platform video game that can be played on Xbox 360 (as an Xbox Live Arcade game) as well as on the PlayStation 3. It even now has an iOS version.
As a game, of course, "Minecraft" revolves around its own unique set of terminologies. One important term one has to know is the 'Minecraft mobs'. The mobs are the living, moving game entities that the player gets to move around. They are affected by the environment as much as the player and they are also subjected to the universal laws of nature (e.g. Physics). Another thing is the 'Minecraft skin', the texture that is placed onto a mob, the player model.
