Julia Roberts & Gwyneth Paltrow Starring Together i'n New Movie 'Secret in Their Eyes' from 'Hunger Games' Writer
Popular actresses Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow are set to star in the upcoming film Secret in Their Eyes. The movie is an English-language remake of Juan Jose Campanella's 2009 movie of the same name.
Along with Roberts and Paltrow, The Secret in Their Eyes will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor and will be written and directed by Bill Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips, Breach, Shattered Glass). Ray actually re-wrote some of the script just to fit Roberts (originally a male role) because he wanted her a part of the film so much. They also changed the filming location from Boston to Los Angeles to accompany Roberts.
The film follows a retired judiciary employee and judge with romantic history who reunite and resume work on an unsolved 1974 rape and murder. The original, Spanish-language feature won a 2010 Academy Award for Best Foreign-Language Film.
The movie will begin filming in October and will be produced by Mark Johnson and John Ufland.
This is not the first time that Roberts and Paltrow have worked on a movie together. They both appeared in Steven Spielberg's 1991 movie Hook, with Paltrow playing a brief role as young Wendy.
Roberts role in the 2013's August: Osage County gained her a best supporting actress Oscar nomination. She also received a best supporting actress Emmy nomination (in the miniseries/movie category) for her appearance in HBO's The Normal Heart.
Paltrow is scheduled to star alongside Johnny Depp in the upcoming movie Mortdecai.
