World of Warcraft Latest News: World of Warcraft Pays Tribute to Late Robin Williams - Created NPC Genie Named Robin [VIDEO]
Blizzard has decided to pay tribute to the memory of the late Robin Williams by immortalizing him as one of the characters in the World of Warcraft (WoW). As publicized by CNET, "Days after Williams' death in August, Blizzard Entertainment announced on Twitter that players would "see him in-game." Williams was a big fan of video games, including World of Warcraft. Now it appears that planned tribute is starting to take shape."
World of Warcraft Cast Robin Williams as NPC Genie
According to a Verge post, the beta version of the Warlords of Draenor has a genie that speaks the first words, that is very much similar to what the 1994 Aladdin movie genie also first uttered.
In Wowhead.com an NPC character named Robin was created in honor of the late Robin Williams. A screenshot of the NPC genie character was also posted. The Verge also cited a Polygon report that WoW gamers traveling to Talador can come into contact with "The Ever Burning Lamp". Just like the story, the player "rubs" the lamp in which a genie will appear. Once the genie is release from the lamp, he immediately shouts, "Infinite Cosmic Power!" followed by a whisper, "itty bitty living space." The Verge speculates that there may be other tributes Blizzard is planning for the late celebrated actor.
