Fifty Shades of Grey Spoilers: My Take on This Much Awaited Movie - Not as Hardcore as Fans Would Expect It to Be
If you're like me who has read the novel cover to cover -- and, yes, I do mean the trilogy, you must be wondering how the Fifty Shades of Grey will translate into the big screen. I asked that question myself when it was first announced - I'm a bit curious but, nevertheless, excited.
Fifty Shades of Grey is a story about the relationship of a simple college graduate, Anastasia Steele and a business tycoon, Christian Grey. The novel is known for its non-traditional sexual encounters, such as bondage/discipline, dominance/submission and sadism/masochism or BDSM. Having said that, I was quite relieved when Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan revealed that the movie is not going to be as "hard-core" and as "steamy" compared to the book.
Dornan said in an interview with GQ magazine, "In some ways, it'll break a few boundaries. But, at the same time, they want to put bums on seats." The actor also added, "They can't alienate an audience. You know it has to be watchable. It can't be hard-core. I wouldn't have signed up to it if it was."
"You've got to make something a large amount of people can go and see. It's not going to be grotesque."
I agree and support with this decision because the book reveals a lot more about the characters than just the BDSM and other erotic scenes. In the book, it will discuss the psychological profile of Christian Grey and how his childhood affects his decision to adhere to such a lifestyle. It will also focus on the love that they have with each other and how they compromise to make their relationship work.
In other news, Charlie Hunnam, the star of the hit series Sons of Anarchy, revealed the reason why he parted ways with Fifty Shades of Grey. Hunnam said that he had "something of a nervous breakdown" because he had other commitment besides Fifty Shades of Grey.
