Hannibal Season 3 Spoilers: Fans to Expect Improved Storyline and More Characters from 'Red Dragon'
After the intense Hannibal's Season 2 finale on May 23, fans of the American psychological thriller-horror television series will have to wait a little longer for its Season 3 premiere as NBC has not yet confirmed a specific date.
Hannibal is a series based on Thomas Harris' novel 'Red Dragon,' having a storyline focusing on the burgeoning relationship of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), a FBI special investigator and a forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal Lecter(MadsMikkelsen), which is fated to become Graham's most shrewd enemy.
Bryan Fuller, who developed the series for NBC, remains confident on the slate of the third season, even though the ratings for Season 1 and 2 showed that this is the network's lowest ranked scripted series. Fuller also explained to Digital Spy they will absolutely resolve the different plots that were left hanging in the last episode.
The season 2 finale left off with Hannibal fleeing the country with Bedelia, leaving a gored Will behind and Abigail dead. In the upcoming season, viewers will be taken by a time jump. Will has been fully healed, and still incessantly looking for Hannibal. It turned out that the antagonist has started his new life with Bedelia in Florence and both had assumed fake identities.
Fuller reiterated that the second part of the season will concentrate more on the original adaptation of Harris novel "Red Dragon." If this pushes through, Hannibal will end up getting locked up in prison, but probably not because of Will's effort. The character of Chilton will be back in action in this season and will come to play a major part in the capture of Hannibal.
"Red Dragon" also reveals that the book's other main antagonist, Francis Dolarhyde will be highlighted and much of the third's season will revolve from Dolarhyde's point of view. Fuller promises a completely different storyline as more characters from the novel will be adapted in this season.
These and more awaits fans of Hannibal, as the third season is already set to roll in late 2014 or by the first half of 2015.
