'Minecraft for PS4 & Xbox One' Soon To Be Out in the Market, Reviews and Release Date Announced
Minecraft is a very popular open world video game created by Markus Persson, a programmer from Sweden, and was later developed and published by the independent company called Mojang, which was founded by the former in 2009.
It was first released on May 17, 2009, originally created for the PC platform, but later developed for multiple platforms due to its success and growing popularity.
It includes a version for the Android operating system, Microsoft Windows, Apple's iOS, Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and was recently released for the Xbox One last September 5, 2014.
The game being an open world type of video game, allows the players to roam around in a virtual world and choose freely on what to do, having no specific goals to accomplish, but an achievement system is said to exist.
Although players have no specific goals, the main purpose of the game is to collect different material blocks and arrange them on fixed locations. These blocks can also be placed elsewhere for construction.
It is usually played in the first person mode but players can choose to play it in the third person if they wish.
The popular game earned awards including the Innovation Award, the Best Downloadable Game Award and the Best Debut Game Award at the Game Developers Conference in 2011.
News and rumors have been circulating on the web about Microsoft's plan to purchase the young Swedish company that developed the successful Minecraft video game, for a rumored price of 2 Billion Dollars.
Other news includes an upcoming update of Minecraft that is said to be in development, but no announcement was made on its release date.
