The King's Heralds Has a New Member
The King’s Heralds have been awarded twenty-three Silver Angel Awards for "Excellence in Media," including six for "Best Male Vocal Group," fourteen for "Best Album" and a "Best International Broadcast" award for their own radio program, "Sounds of Praise." The group also received a "Gold” Angel Award" for being the oldest continuous Gospel Quartet in America.
Fans were recently introduced to Jared Otto, a new lead singer, who replaced 2nd tenor Joel Borg. Borg left the group in order to spend more time at home with his family. Jared, a former IT professional for the Health Department in the State of Florida, is from from Deland, Florida. The 25-year-old talked about the sudden career path change, saying, "This is certainly different than working with computers, but these guys are great men who love the Lord and make traveling a real adventure. Mostly it's exciting having the opportunity to sing about the most important message in the world and to see hearts and souls lifted up and their lives changed forever."
Don Scroggs added, "We are proud to welcome Jared to our ministry team. He adds some youth and vitality to the group. The Kings Heralds is the first full time group that he has been with. He is very committed to the Lord and is excited about this opportunity to be in full time music ministry."
The quartet is currently in the process of seeking out new material to produce a new album. In the meantime, fans can hear them singing old favorites at several concert events.
