Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will star in the new movie "By the Sea", a drama film in which Angelina Jolie directs as well as writes. The project will be co-produced by the couple. Universal Pictures won the rights to the movie in an announcement on 12^th September.

Jolie will have a lot on her plat as she will produce, write and co-star in the movie "By the Sea".  The film has been described as a low-key, intimate drama on a couple's relationship.  However, very few details are known about the film. Despite that, the fact that it casts both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, it will mostly be enough to convince many viewers and fans to go have a look at it in the theatres.

Based on the previous movie they were involved in, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", it will be quite interesting to see if there exists the fiery level of chemistry initially seen when the couple worked together.  Reports have it that the production has already started taking place, the set constructions have already begun on the Mgarr ix-Xini beach. However, it is still unclear if the entire movie will be shot on this beach or if another location is required. What is sure though is that the beach is set to be closed until November 10th suggesting that filming might end then.

"By the Sea" is set in France around the mid 1970s. Angelina Jolie plays as Vanessa, a former dancer while Brad Pitt plays as her husband -Roland- an American writer. During their country travels together, they seem to be drifting apart. However, when they stay behind in a quiet seaside town, they seem to be draw close so the vibrant inhabitants like the local bar/cafe keeper and the hotel owner.

That is as far as the plot is known. Jolie told one of the local magazines that she chose the set 'By the Sea', because it is not only colorful and has an alluring era, but also it removed the many distractions of the contemporary life that allows the focus to remain squarely only on emotions that the characters feel during their journey.

The movie is set to be released on March 2015.
