'Nexus 6' Is Coming: Specs, Release Date and Other Exciting Features
Know Your Mobile has posted an AnTuTu benchmark on the alleged specs of the Nexus 6. However, the handset, successor to the Nexus 5, will be known as Nexus X.
The upcoming Nexus from Motorola has been given the codename Shamu. Spirent Communications is being pinpointed as the main source of the information, according to the same report. Spirent's services are usually required for conducting QA tests on new handsets before they are introduce to the market.
Based on the AnTuTu benchmark, the handset codenamed Shamu has the Android L as its OS. The processor of the Nexus X is the Snapdragon 805 and its graphic processor is the Adreno 420. The display is 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The front facing camera is at least 13 MP. The Nexus X will have 3 GB of RAM.
The Nexus X is scheduled for release in November this year. The upcoming Nexus handset will probably hit the U.S. before it will be released internationally.
One of the things improved in Android L is how a handset user is being notified. With this upgrade, users can choose between two options. One option is the "Visibility Controls," where the user has the right to choose which information can be displayed on the lock screen of the Nexus X or any Android device. The second option is the "Heads Up Notification," where the details and actions are placed inside a small floating windows.
Google has updated and added helpful tools in Android L. One such tool is the "Battery Historian," This helpful tool informs and educates a user on how certain apps consumed their handset's batteries and how to prolong the life of the battery. In fact, this is also one of the features that the newest Apple OS offers, the ability to know which apps are power-consuming.
