"Gone Girl" Release Date: Ben Affleck shines in the movie
'Gone Girl' is a film adaptation of the Gillian Flynn 2012 novel of the same title and stars Ben Affleck in a plot guaranteed to mystify and thrill the audience. The various premier dates, which all have an earlier viewership at the on-going film festivities across the world, have been set and are as follows:
26 September 2014 (New York Film Festival)
28 September 2014 (Athens Film Festival)
29 September 2014 (Zurich Film Festival)
29 September 2014 (Bergen International Film Festival)
And the broader audience the world over will have their debut shows starting 1 October 2014.
The long and short of the film dwell on the many faces that love hides behind its back. Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) is accused of silently murdering his wife after she unceremoniously disappears after their fifth wedding anniversary plays out. A large search is organized and this ultimately drives the media and police to look into the seemingly lovely couple's perfect marriage. Cracks and webs are brought out as the world learns of the lies and façades that tainted even this fairy tale type of marriage; inevitable setting the attention and blame to the husband as to what could have happened to his missing wife.
An impressive cast was brought together as they played out the writer- Gillian Flynn's characters to the best of their talents to bring out the drama and thrill in the script. Notable appearances include Neil Patrick Harris who will be making his return to the big screen since playing other roles in previous years, and the magnificent Tyler Perry, in a magnificent 145 minute worth of amazing acting performance mash-up.
This will sure have great uptake, not only attributable to the casting but also the success that was met with the book from which the screenplay was adapted. The writer has noted that the story will not take the exact form of the book, however having read the book, there is little doubt that the long wait to what could be the greatest drama this year is on the brink of its end.
