Jeremy Renner Latest News and Movie Update: Sorry Ladies! Jeremy Renner is Now A Married Man
One of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors has recently tied the knot. Jeremy Renner admitted to Capitol File that he's already married to Sonni Pacheco, mother of her 17-month-old baby. It was quite a shock even for the reporter who's interviewing him. Renner added, "Yeah... Paps follow me, [and] that's fine. But it's annoying being followed when I'm with my family. It's not just me-everyone [in Hollywood] has to deal with that. I've been talked about a whole lot, because the less I put out there, the less people know, and it makes it interesting, I assume."
During the interview, the actor talked about his upcoming film, "Kill the Messenger." He is the producer of the film and at the same time, he also plays the lead role in the film. The film is base on a true to life story of Gary Webb, an award winning journalist. Webb became controversial when he made allegations "that the CIA was aware of dealers smuggling cocaine into the U.S. and was using the profits to arm rebels in Nicaragua."
Webb was threatened both by the CIA and Drug Lords. Even major news organizations like the Washington Post ridiculed his findings. Because of the smear campaign, Webb's employer - Mercury News retracted Webb's story on the CIA involvement with cocaine smuggling. Mercury News even demoted him which led to his resignation.
It was only in 1998 that the CIA finally admitted its involvement. However, the vindication was already too late for Webb. His career in journalism was over. Gary Webb's body was found in his home in North California. Police ruled his death as a suicide.
According to the film director Michael Cuesta, "Being the producer and a lead of the film is no easy task...At one moment he is in character and the next there's concern regarding the budget."
