TV Ratings: NBC’s The Voice, CBS’ NCIS: New Orleans, FOX’s The Mindy Project, and NBC’s Chicago Fire Tops Broadcast Prime Time Slots

TV Ratings:  NBC's The Voice, CBS' NCIS: New Orleans, FOX's The Mindy Project, and NBC's Chicago Fire Tops Broadcast Prime Time Slots

Based on the Nielsen TV ratings data for September 23, CBS' NCIS dominated the 8 PM time slot overall with 18.23 million viewers, coming in second with a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's The Voice, which airs 8-10 PM, averaged 13.18 million viewers and topped the hour with a 4.1 key demographics rating. ABC's Dancing with the Stars averaged 9.96 million viewers and a 1.7 key demo rating for third. FOX's Utopia averaged with 1.91 million viewers and a 0.8 key demo rating. The CW's Arrow repeat averaged 0.67 million viewers and a 0.3 key demo rating.

For the 9 PM time slot, CBS' NCIS: New Orleans led with 17.22 million viewers and finished second with a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, compared to the 14.58 million viewers and 4.5 key demo rating for NBC's The Voice. ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. averaged 5.98 million viewers and a 2.1 key demo rating in third. FOX' New Girl, (9:00-9:30) with 2.35 million viewers and a 1.3 key demo and The Mindy Project (9:30-10:00) with 2.1 million and a 1.0 key demo followed. The CW's Supernatural repeat averaged 0.68 million viewers and a 0.68 key demo rating.

In terms of viewership, CBS' Person of Interest topped the 10 PM hour overall with 10.58 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's Chicago Fire however won the hour with a 2.6 key demo rating and was second overall with 9.14 million viewers. ABC's Forever averaged 6.85 million viewers and a 1.8 key demo rating in its time period debut.

Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 15.25 million viewers and a 9.3 rating/15 share for the Tuesday prime time slots, followed by NBC, then by ABC and FOX, not counting of course CW with its repeats.
