Fans to the franchise Half-life have been waiting for a very long time for Game developers, Valve to release the third installment i.e. Half-life 3. The game is among the highly anticipated as its last installment, Half-life 2 was a huge success but that was almost a decade ago. We have gone from hopeful for the third installment to wondering if the game will see the light of day because many wondered if it was even in its planning stages.

But taking a closer look at Valve (game developer), it would seem it has lost interest in the franchise and have turned all their energy and finances to developing games such as 'Left for Dead', 'Portal' and 'Dota'. Moreover, the company has more important things to think about as it runs the massive popular digital platform, Steam. With current statistics, it would seem that the legendary Valve Company has shifted from game development and has taken up publishing roles.

Despite the wait being very long and even some losing hope in the third installment, rumors and speculations will never seize to surface in regards to Half-life 3. Valve Company has not issued any solid statement on whether the game is under-development or even stated a release date but in an interview, one of ex-Valve's employees, Minh Le. Le, creator of 'Counter-strike' simply stated that the third installment of Half-life was being worked on. This is a relief because at least there is some confirmation that the third installment will eventually come out. This has got to be the best news because it is more than anything Valve has said of late.

The company has made an offer on steam for all their titles which includes discount packages that include Half-life games.  In one package, valve is offering all the games they have ever developed for $24.99. Another package, 'Half-life complete' package includes the main games, their expansions, Half-life: source, and Team Fortress Classic, all going for $9.99. The packages will be available until October 1^st.

This could be an indication that Valve has some plans in regards to the third installment of Half-life later in the year. In regards to the release date, it seems the developers want it to be a surprise.
