The McCarthy's Debut on CBS: A Wacky Family Sitcom obsessed with Sports that is Sure to Cheer Us Up!
Writer Brian Gallivan's new comedy series is based around a working-class Boston family who are obsessed with sports.
The series revolves around the McCarthys, a close-knit working class Boston clan whose sports legacy runs deep in the family. But when outspoken father Arthur, a dedicated high school basketball coach, decides to take his athletically challenged-and openly gay-son Ronny under his wing as his new assistant, the other siblings (who are more sports passionate) start crying foul over their dad's choice.
The show stars Tyler Ritter as Ronny McCarthy, Laurie Metcalf as Marjorie McCarthy, Jack McGee as Arthur McCarthy, Jimmy Dunn as Sean McCarthy, former NKOTB Joey McIntyre as Gerard McCarthy, Kelen Coleman as Jackie McCarthy and they will be joined by Playing House's Jessica St Clair.
The television series was created by Brian Gallivan, who also shares executive producer credits with Mike Sikowitz, Richie Schwartz and Will Gluck for CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
The McCarthys premieres on CBS on Thursday, October 30 at 9.30pm ET.
