Star Wars 7: Plot, Cast, Release Date in Fall of 2015; Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa are Back!

Star Wars 7 is an upcoming American epic space opera film and is intended as the seventh installment in the Star Wars film series.

The plot revolves around a trio of young leads, together with the characters in the previous installments.

This is plotted to be first of the third trilogy of Star Wars films, following 30 years after The Return of the Jedi. Among the seven installments of the action series, this will also be the first film to be produced after The Walt Disney Company acquired ownership of Lucasfilm in 2012.

Star Wars 7 cast stars Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa, 2002 Cecil B. DeMille Award Winner Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Kenny Baker as R2-D2.

Other members of the cast include John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.

Mark Hamill revealed in Inquistr, "I didn't expect (Star Wars) to be a critical success. I thought people would like it, because it took so many elements from movies we were familiar with - pirate, cowboy movies, war movies - and added humor. That's the thing that got me."

Aside from Star Wars 7, Hamill's other projects for next year are Kingsman: The Secret Service and Relatively Super.

The movie began filming in Abu Dhabi and Iceland. Major photography took place last May 16, 2014 in Abu Dhabi. However, the second-unit filming will be largely based at Pinewood Studios in Iver Health, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.

The film is set to be piloted by 2013 ASCAP Award Winner J.J. Abrams and is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, along with Lawrence Kasdan as co-writer. Kasdan also contributed as the co-writer on The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The seventh installment of the epic space film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures.

Star Wars 7 is scheduled to debut in theaters and cinemas in the fall of 2015.
