New MacBook Pro Retina Release Date, News and Reviews: Refreshed MacBook Pro Retina Released! Read and Know all About it Here
Rejoice Mac users! Apple released the refreshed and updated models of their MacBook Pro, now with Retina just last July, 29, 2014. For one, the 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina has buffed up its goodies.
With its upgraded processor, the Intel Core i7 clocks at 2.2 GHZ, it gives the user the proper boost it needs for performance. It doesn't stop there, the maximum turbo speed the i7 can deliver is a whopping 3.4 GHZ that's more than a 50% boost!
Multi-task oriented people will also love its 16GB RAM. That's more than enough for your average user, more apps, more fun, and more productivity. The flash storage is still large at 256GB.
If that doesn't still quite cut it, you can choose their Configure-to-order options which include the 2.8 GHZ i7 processor with the turbo speed maxing out at 4.0 GHZ. A 1TB flash storage is also available.
Let's look at the upgraded Retina display. Its resolution is set at 2880 x 1800 pixels with a LED backlight technology. That's more jam-packed pixels, surpassing the 1080p and even the native 2k resolution standard. It is also a widescreen resolution, playing 16:9 high-definition movies will not be a problem at all.
Entry-level MacBook Pro Retina models which are priced starting at $1,999 has the Intel Iris Pro Graphics as its GPU, while the much more expensive line, at $2,499, includes the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M. The upgraded NVIDIA GPUs are part of the 700 series which boast DirectX-11 capabilities for gamers and the graphic enthusiasts.
With all these power stuffed into the new MacBook Pro Retina, it is still lightweight at just 4.46 lbs. Thickness is also not an issue as it stands only at 0.71 inch. The battery is said to last up to 8 hours, with that much power; it's a fair trade-off.
It's surely a good choice for Mac power users who like performance and speed in a MacBook; the Retina is also a big eye candy as the 2k resolution surpasses today's high-definition movies. Even with that high of a price-tag, it's still a good choice for those who have cash to burn.
