"Cristela" Premiere, Spoilers, Release: The American Dream Strikes Again!
"Cristela," the new TV series of FOX Television Studio, is all about grabbing that American dream. The series is about a Mexican law graduate who wants to become a "big deal' lawyer. After taking up law for six long years, Cristela has some good news - she is given the opportunity to achieve her life-long dream. Cristela gets a job as an intern in a law firm. Bad news - the job is unpaid! Oh well, that's life! As they say, when life gives you lemon, make lemonade! So Cristela will work for free; and while working she will go through a lot of nutty predicaments in the office. Like the embarrassment that she is the cleaning lady in the office not a lawyer. And her home? It's an insane set-up too!
Things will be a little "loco" when you have traditional mom who wants you to settle down and forget your dream; a relative who thinks you are that you are a burden and wants you out of the house; and a cousin of your brother-in-law who wants you! When you mix "free" work, crazy office situations and a wacky family, expect some giggles and laughter! Taking life so seriously will only produce one thing- wrinkles! So watch "Cristela" and laugh your heart away!
Stand-up comedienne Cristela Alonzo will also take a crack at some issues viewers can relate to - like weight problem and how some people see Mexicans in the United States. A delightful situational comedy, adding a zing to reality!
Aside from Cristela , the show starts Carlos Ponce as the character Felix, the brother-in-law; Terri Hoyas as the character Natalia, the old-fashion mom; Maria Canal Barrera as the character Daniela, the reluctant sister; Andrew Leeds as the character Josh, the co-worker; Justine Lupe as the character Maddie, the daughter of the boss; Sam McMurray as the character Trent Culpepper, the boss; and Gabriel Iglesias as the character Alberto, the chubby cousin of Felix who is head-over heels over Cristela.
Latina comedic show "Cristela" is co-created by Becky Clements, Marty Adelstein, Shawn Levy and Kevin Hench.
This FOX treat will debut on Oct. 10, 2014.
