'20/20' Premiere Spoilers: Two Eighth-Graders Stab their Friend for Slender Man
Last September 26, Friday, the Season 38 of ABC's primetime magazine show 20/20 debuted its premiere episode entitled, Out of the Woods.
20/20 is an American television newsmagazine show, which focuses on human interest stories. The show's anchors are Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir.
The premiere episode features a case of attempted murder done for Slender Man, an illusory horror icon from the internet. Slender Man is said to be a prowler who kidnaps and kills people, most especially the young ones.
There's a case in the network's website that reveals that the suspects were two minor girls, aged 12 years old and residents of Waukesha, Winconsin, and apparently stabbed their classmate nineteen times using a large kitchen knife. The girls' classmate happened to be of their same age.
Reports say that last Saturday morning in May, the eighth grade suspects convinced their friend to come with them into the woods to play hide-and-seek.
The girls confessed to the authorities that for months, they planned to kill their classmate because they had decided to be with Slender Man and they have to do it as an initiation ritual for them to become followers of Slender Man.
The victim was found by a cyclist. According to the cyclist, the girl was awake and was crawling out to the woods. After that, 911 was contacted. The victim was brought to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for medical assessment and surgeries. The wound was fatal and placed the girl to possible death; however she managed to survive. The girl has returned home.
The victim's mother told ABC news that during the incident, she was in the backyard of their family home painting an old patio set. Her husband was at work while her 9-year-old son was playing inside their house.
The suspects were charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Their lawyers pleaded the court for consideration, since the suspects are "mentally incompetent". In spite of the lawyers plead, the suspects continue the hearing trial on October 22 and November 12.
This week's highlights feature HongKong Protests, Gary Sinese, Bill O'Reilly and Henry Kissinger, and the Powerhouse Puzzlers.
Watch the hour-long program show on Friday evenings on ABC.
