Blackberry Z50 Release Date, Reviews and Specs: z50 Specs are Looking Good, but is it too Good to be True?
Even after the release of the Blackberry Passport, there is still no news on the release date of the rumored Z50. The rumors are scattered throughout the internet about the Z50, they say that it would definitely not launch this year 2014. This is because of the announcement made by BlackBerry CEO John Chen saying that they will only release two phones this 2014: The lower-end "Jakarta" and the recently released BlackBerry Passport.
What's more devastating for BlackBerry fans and Christmas shoppers this year is that the Z50 packs a lot of power. Let's look at the specs.
The Z50 screen is rumored to be a quite large 5.2 inch High Definition display with an outstanding 1080*1920 resolution. With that size, most users would have to use the phone with two hands. Watching movies would be crystal clear with that resolution, although, the screen Pixels-Per-Inch or ppi has not been confirmed yet. Some forums calculated the ppi of the z50 to be somewhere within the range of 400 and above.
The rear camera is rumored to be a decent 13 Mega Pixels camera. No rumors as to whether the Z50 would have a front camera yet. It's still good considering that the rear camera is still up to today's smartphone standards.
Now, for the processing power, it's rumored to be equipped with a Quad Core processor with a 64 bit chip. This means that it is also on par with the booming Quad Core generation of the smartphones in the market. The RAM, however, is one of the most unbelievable specs in the Z50; it's rumored to have a whopping 8 GB of RAM. Some forum posters say that this is too good to be true.
The battery is said to be a 3,300 mAh one. This would mean that the Z50 may not be thin, but considering the huge capacity and the possibility of a one-charge per day, it would be definitely worth it.
Another rumor is that the Z50 will be also equipped with the new BlackBerry 10.3 operating system. This is highly possible as the said operating system just launched with BlackBerry passport. The Z50 would be a very good choice for power users of smartphones especially with the new 10.3 operating system.
