Recently released mid-ranged smartphone Sony Xperia E3 will probably find its competitor from Samsung Corp. Samsung is going to release Galaxy Grand Prime this month, which is also a mid-range phone and might become a strong competitor of Xperia E3. Let's give a quick look at the comparison between those smartphones.
Sony Xperia E3 is well equipped with 4.5-icnh display with 480 x 854-pixel resolution. The pixel resolution will feel sharp as it comes with 218ppi pixel density. The display type is IPS capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and the Shatterproof glass protects the screen. Samsung has larger display of 5-inch with 540 x 960 pixels. It also has moderate pixel quality with 22ppi pixel density. The display type is varies a bit TFT capacitive touchscreen.
Samsung Grand Prime has outstanding 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The rear-facing camera can record video of 1080p at 30fps. The camera department has additional features like autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo-tagging etc. On the other hand, Sony Xperia E3 has only 5MP rear camera with VGA front camera. The rear camera is capable of shooting 1080p resolution video at 30 fps. Xperia E3 presents poor image quality compared to Samsung Grand Prime.
Both the devices comes with pretty similar hardware configuration where Xperia E3 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor with adreno 305 GPU whereas Samsung Grand Prime has Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and quad-core 1.2Ghz Cortex-A53. The GPU adreno 306 is almost same as Xperia E3. Both the devices operate on android v4.4.2 KitKat.
Xperia E3 has 1 GB of RAM with 4GB of internal memory. The external memory is expandable to 32GB with micro SD card slot. Galaxy Prime has 2GB of RAM with 8GB of internal memory. The external memory is expandable to 64GB. Sony Xperia E3 has 2330mAh battery whereas Samsung Galxy Grand Prime has 2600mAh battery capacity. Sony claims its new handsets will last 2 days with single full battery charge. Let's see what Samsung brings with larger battery capacity than Sony.
