Dallas TV show News and Updates: Network Cancelled the Show, There will be No Season Four
Sad as it may sound, Dallas has been cancelled by TNT. There will no Season 4 to come after 3 seasons.
The original Dallas TV series, was a very popular show during the 70's, 80's and 90's. Who wouldn't forget the episode where JR Ewing was shot? There was a tremendous amount of viewers who watched the show around the world on that particular episode. Larry Hagman, became a household name and he was even featured in National Geographic's "The 80's: The Decade that Made Us", where he was considered as an icon in the 80's. Sadly Hagman, passed away in 2012 while he was still reprising his iconic role in the new Dallas TV show.
The new Dallas TV show features the continuation of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. It stars: Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
According to TV Series Finale, "Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It's one of TNT's lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn't a good sign for its chances of a fourth season."
TNT on the other hand explained in a statement, "We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show's creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series."
Fans of the show are hoping it could still be revived as writers are clamoring to "working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season."
