Kingdom Hearts 3 release date is December 31, 2015, according to Amazon which is already now accepting pre-orders at $59.99 for the Kingdom Hearts III - PlayStation 4 version. Officially though, the upcoming role-playing action video game is still under development at the Square Enix studios.
The latest Kingdom Hearts 3 news has it that Sora will remain as the game's lead protagonist and that it will continue to feature Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku as his main supporting cast. However, Sora and Riku, after having become Keyblade Masters in the previous "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" game, now will have the ability to change the shape of their Keyblades. According to game creator Tetsuya Nomura, as reported by Kotaku, the main crux of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 will be Sora's final confrontation with Master Xehanort, the series' main villain. Interestingly, according to Kdrama Stars, co-creator Tai Yasue reportedly hinted during an interview with Nova Crystallis that for Kingdom Hearts 3, Frozen, Star Wars and Marvel characters might also be included in the storyline for the upcoming game.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is the eighth installment in the Kingdom Heart series, which began with the release of 'Kingdom Hearts' in 2002, followed by 'Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories' in 2004, then by 'Kingdom Hearts II' in 2005, then by 'Kingdom Hearts coded' in 2008, then by 'Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep' in 2010, and finally, 'Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance' in 2012. According to the wiki, Nomura in an interview with the Japanese language site Famitsu said: "We're proceeding along with which worlds we'll be selecting for the game. It's the final episode in the 'Dark Seeker' saga that began with the original Kingdom Hearts, and it'll depict the final battle with Xehanort."
