Paranormal Activity 5 news, release date: Opening date moved to March 2015, gets a Catchier, Spookier title
Paranormal Activity 5 release date updates: The newest movie from the Paranormal Activity franchise won't be in theaters in time for Halloween 2014 - Paranormal Activity 5 release date has been set for March 23, 2015.
Instead of Paranormal Activity 5, Paramount will be releasing Christopher Landon's Scouts vs. Zombies a horror comedy about Boy Scouts amidst a zombie invasion.
What's more, Paranormal Activity 5 is getting a new name: Paramount Pictures has changed it to Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. Plot and other details have yet to be revealed.
Counting the spin-off sequel Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, which was released in January of this year, Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension will be the sixth outing from the Paranormal Activity series.
With the change in title, Paramount hopes Paranormal Activity 5 won't suffer the same fate as Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, which earned $32 million in the US and $58 million overseas - the lowest grossing Paranormal Activity movie to date. But considering its $6 million production budget, the figures are not bad at all.
With the change in schedule, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension will be up against Disney's live-action Cinderella and the Chris Hemsworth's adventure vehicle, Heart of the Sea.
Let's see if the changes will work to Paranormal Activity 5's favor.
