Google X Pet Project, Latest News and Updates: Is the TV industry going to be threatened by the new technology?
Google lab platform has become pretty busy with the latest schedule releases like Andoid L, Google Glass, Google Nexus 9, and now Google X. The new project will be a bit different since the technology behind the project includes integration of multiple screens. Here are some details about the new project.
The project Google X targets to reflect the display of different devices with variable sizes to a giant projector type TV display. The project is still under wraps, so not much has been declared from Google. According to Wall Street Journal, Mary Lou Jepsen announced that the giant display would be a combined result of small portions like Lego bricks arrangement. The screen will probably avoid being surrounded by bezel. The screen will be extended to the edges and there would be no extra space available. This arrangement will allow adding extra screens together to form a big screen. The screen shape has not been confirmed yet but probable it will transform into variable shapes by block system. The block system might be square, rectangular or others.
If this project runs according to plan, TV market will face problems. Customers have to pay according to display inch for TV. For example, a 32-inch TV might costs around $1000 while a 112-inch TV costs over $100,000 and requires custom-made orders. So customers might no go for buying new TV rather going for the so-called Google X project. This project might release the technology at cheap rates than big screen TV's.
Google joined the Gecho Design Company that offers product mechanical design solutions. So it is expected that Google and Gecho Company might work together on the design of the product. Previously Google X has perused some projects to represent better technology in the remote areas. Google X aimed to provide wireless internet access to billions. Their vision was to civilize the remote areas all over the world. The project was named the "Project Loon." The project appearance schedule has not been declared but it is expected to be announced very soon.
