SWITCHFOOT'S FADING WEST DEBUTS AT #1 OVERALL CHRISTIAN/GOSPEL,

#6 ON BILLBOARD TOP 200 IN FIRST WEEK

Feature Film Available Across Digital

And Video On Demand Formats

U.S. Tour Ready To Launch

Despite lead singer Jon Foreman's surfing injury the day before the release of their new album (January 14 on Atlantic Records/Word), forcing the postponement of their hometown record release show in San Diego, the Grammy-award winning rock band have plenty to be happy about - Fading West has debuted at # 6 on this week's Billboard Top 200, came in at #2 on the Rock Album and hit #1 on the overall Christian/Gospel charts.  Their previous release, 2011's Vice Verses, peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top 200.

The success is fueled by two hit singles, "Who We Are" and "Love Alone Is Worth The Fight," and the band's recently released feature film, also titled Fading West, which is continuing to reach new audiences for Switchfoot.  The film is currently available across all leading Video On Demand platforms in the U.S. including iTunes, Amazon, Instant Video, Cable Movies on Demand, Google Play, Xbox Video, Sony Playstation, Cinemanow and Vudu with digital entertainment curator, FilmBuff. Part rock documentary, part surf film, and part travelogue, Fading West offers rare glimpses of the longtime surfers on their boards and in the waves, captures the frenetic energy of their live shows, and in the end portrays a journey both epic and intimate.

The band will launch a full U.S. tour on February 20th in support of the new album.  A complete itinerary is available below.

ABOUT SWITCHFOOT:

As they enter their 17th year as a band, Switchfoot have sold 5.5 million copies worldwide of their eight studio albums (including their 2003 double-platinum breakthrough The Beautiful Letdown and 2009's Grammy Award-winning Hello Hurricane), racked up a string of Alternative radio hit singles ("Meant to Live," "Dare You To Move," "Mess of Me," "The Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues)," "Dark Horses," and "Afterlife"), performed sold-out world tours (visiting five continents in the past year alone), raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid homeless kids in their community through their own Bro-Am Foundation, and earned themselves a global fan base devoted to Switchfoot's emotionally intelligent and uplifting brand of alternative rock.
