Tom Hanks' 'Inferno' dodged showdown with 'Star Wars: Episode VII"

The showdown between 'Star Wars: Episode VII' and "Inferno" will not push through on December 2015. Instead, Sony decided that the action-packed thriller of the well-known author Dan Brown would be seen two years from now, October 2016.

This means, "Inferno" won't have to slug it out with 'Star Wars Episode VII'; as well as the comedy film of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey called "The Nest", a comedy flick distributed by Universal Studio. With the new schedule for release, "Inferno" will instead do a face-off with 'A Monster Calls' headlining Liam Neeson and directed by J. A. Bayona.

Robert Howard and Tom Hanks are returning for another mindboggling Dan Brown novel turned film. Howard will test once again his directorship skills after the blockbuster movies 'Angels and Demons' and 'Da Vinci Code'.

Meanwhile, Tom Hanks will show his versatility by becoming, for the third time around, the most popular symbologist in the world, Robert Langdon. This time Langdon will solve an enigma leading to a deadly virus. The secret of the virus is so well hidden in different codes found all over Florence and Venice.  Dante's death mask and Dante's Hell will be part of the mystery Langdon will have to decode.

"Inferno" cast members and production crews are all ready to start production in Italy. Sienna Guillory will play Dr. Sienna Brooks, a medical doctor helping Langdon in solving the mystery; Gina Carano will be Vayentha, an assassin tasked to stop Langdon;Mads Mikkelsen will take the role of Bertrand Zobrist, a geneticist who is obsessed with Black Death.

He believes that to stop population growth a plague must be used. Other characters in the film are Knowlton (Shawn Ashmore), Jonathan Ferris ( Raoul Bova),The Provost ( Peter Dinklage), Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey ( Helen Mirren), Date Alighieri (Roberto Benigni) and Bruder ( Christoph Waltz).

Akiva Goldsman together with David Koepp wrote the screenplay of "Inferno". They also wrote the script of Angels and Demons. The two mystery books turned movie, Da Vinci Code (2003) and Angels and Demons (2000), of Dan Brown earned more than 1.2 billion dollars in the box office. This a promising clue that the new movie "Inferno" might just become a blockbuster hit.
