HTC One M8 Eye Is Now Ready For Purchase in China - News, Rumors and Updates
Slashgear who first reported that HTC One M8 Eye is going to be available in China. Although, it was rumored that HTC is going to release One M8, no one expected that it is going to be silently launched in China. GSM Arena reported that the device was named as HTC M8Ew under TEENA and the specification list that the smartphone operating system is Android 4.4.4. Other feature includes 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 and boasts 2GB RAM with 16 GB of internal memory. It also has an impressive 5.0" 1920 x 1080 display. According to NDTV Gadgets, One M8 also has an expandable storage via a microSD of up to 128GB and it has 2600mAh battery. The screen display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
HTC One M8 Eye measures 146 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm and weighs around 157 grams. It is expected to be available by October 15 - again in China only. There are rumors that the device is going to be available in India as well.
Since One M8 is from the Eye series, it is expected that the device will have a top of the line camera. One M8 has three cameras - two at the back which is in line with HTC's duo camera setup and one in the front. The back camera is at 13MP and the front is 5MP - and this is an improvement from the previously released camera spec of 4MP. The current specs for the camera are geared to satisfy the "selfie" loving generation.
It is still unclear when the formal unveiling for HTC One M8 Eye will be or whether there's going to be one. Is HTC One M8 exclusive for the Asian market? We don't know that yet, however what we know is that the device is priced at CNY 3,999 which is around Rs 40,000.
It is still not clear why HTC decided on this business strategy and what's with HTC One M8 that made it suitable for the Asian market or if there will ever be a U.S. release. Other countries that are interested to market HTC One M8, just need to wait for HTC's announcement.
